Solar Energy Services was contacted by the Board of Mother Seton Academy to design and install a 57kW solar power system on their new gymnasium building in Baltimore City.    The system consists of 152, 375 watt solar modules installed on the standing seam metal roof, utilizing clamps to the metal seams in order to avoid roof penetrations.  SES also worked with the building engineers in order to reinforce the infrastructure of the new pre-fab building; ensuring compliance with Baltimore City’s roof loading requirements.

Mother Seton chose to independently own the solar system so they could take advantage of Maryland State’s financial incentives.

Type of Install:PV

Installation Date: April 2020 Washington, DC

System Size: 57Kw

Annual utility offset: New building – to be determined

Environmental Benefits: Equal to offsetting the carbon emissions of ~287 cars for one year

“When we began to plan an addition to our school, we wanted to explore including solar panels to be socially responsible.  Solar Energy Services, Inc. answered all our questions and developed an economically feasible plan with us.  They were great to work with and handled all the the paperwork and communication with our utility company. They completed the project in a timely manner with no disruption to our program. The system is up and running. We are able to collect data for use in our math and science classes – as well as to share with supporters. We are pleased with the work of Solar Energy Services, Inc.”
